No1 feature that Linux needs (after marketing)?
-Games of course! Until Prince of Persia, Fallout and Pro Evolution Soccer get ported to Linux, a good solution are Flash games.

[Poll Closed] Which distribution do you use?

Most readers use Ubuntu (which makes sense, as most posts were about Ubuntu). I will post some articles and HOW-TOs for our friends that use Fedora, as well. I 've been using mainly Fedora for the last 2 weeks and I can say its great!

Chrome V8 just become V12!

In my older post Broswer Wars Reloaded: Javascript speed, Acid tests I presented the javascript speed of the most popoular broswers. Firefox 3.1 beta2 was the fastest with Chrome a very close second (and IE 7 like 20 times slower!!). The results were :

• Firefox 3.1 beta 2: 1997.6ms 
  
• Chrome beta :2240.8ms
  

Now the final version of Chrome does it in the blinding speed of 1551.0ms!!

So stay tuned to see if the final version of Firefox 3.1 will beat Chrome to Javascript speed. Although we can expect that the 1st place will switch sides with each new version..

Windows Stuff

These free software programs for Windows are some of the easiest to use for certain tasks. I figured I would post them here to let the Windows users that come here that they are not left out. Maybe it will convert some curious users to give Linux a go.

1. FreeZip is a small, fast and efficient Zip utility for compression and decompression of files and directories. FreeZip integrates with Windows Explorer and uses file associations and context menus to zip or unzip files and subdirectories. If you know how to use Windows Explorer, then you do not have to learn anything new to use FreeZip. The setup is a single-click process and there are no options or settings involved. The manual is in English, Japanese, Polish, Italian, Swedish, German, Latvian, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Czech, Russian, Lithuanian, Belorussian, Portuguese and Chinese.

2. Winmd5sum is a easy utility to check your downloaded md5sum for data integrity.

3. Imageburn is a lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application that everyone should have. (So you can burn a Linux ISO or whatever)
